Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu

Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu is in his seventh season as a professional soccer player. He was drafted and played two years with Atlanta United FC in the MLS, where he was part of an MLS Cup winning side in 2018. Since, he has played both in the USL Championship and League One for FC Tucson, Phoenix Rising FC, Sacramento Republic FC and Forward Madison FC. Prior to becoming a professional, Andrew played four years for Harvard University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.

Andrew hopes that UBP can provide instrumental support and resources for black players in the USL in helping them achieve their ambitions both on and off the field. He also believes that UBP can play a vital role in growing the sport of soccer in the USL communities across the US by exposing young black boys and girls to the game and demonstrating that choosing to engage with soccer is a path that will bring enjoyment, fulfillment, and an undeniable sense of belonging.
