Addressing inequity within US soccer by providing access, support, and resources to those most in need from youth to professional and everywhere in between.
In 2020, several prominent Black soccer players across MLS, USL and international football laid the foundations for the organization today known as the United Black Players (UBP). After months of conversations the group officially launched that summer with over 100 members spanning across the 30+ professional teams in the United Soccer League (USL) ecosystem.
Soccer can be used as a vehicle to instill positive outcomes in underserved communities. While across the country participation rates in soccer are increasing, access to competitive youth soccer decreases as poverty rates rise. We aim to make soccer a viable option for ALL who want to participate.
